1.   MAYA DEVI TEMPLE, HARIDWAR:

Maya DeviTemple is a Hindu goddess Temple dedicated to goddess of illusion in the holy city of Haridwar of Uttarakhand state in India. It is believed that the heart and navel of goddess sati fell in the region where the temple stands today and thus it is something referred to as a Shakti Peetha. Goddess Maya is the Adhisthatri deity of Haridwar. She is a three- headed and four- armed deity who is believed to be an existence of Sakti. Haridwar was previously known as Mayapuri in reverence to this deity.

History: According to the Hindu mythology sati wife of lord Shiva) set herself on fire to avenge the insulting demeanor of her father towards her husband. 6.   SURKANDA DEVI TEMPLE, THHRI GHARWAL:

Surkanda devi temple is located near Dhanaulti in the unnail village of Tehri district of Uttarakhand. It is one of India’s 51 Shaktipeeth temples and is of great religious importance. 7.   CHANDRABADNI DEVI TEMPLE, TEHRI:

According to legend this is the place where the toes of Goddess Sati, the wife of lord Shiva, fell when her body was cut into pieces by Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra to calm Shiva grief and rage after her self-immolation. As one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, the temple is considered highly sacred and draws devotees seeking blessing and spiritual solace. It is believed that the Goddess resides in the form of a pindi (a stone representation of Shakti) in the sanctum sanctorum. The temple’s surrounding is said to bear the imprints of ancient tools and weapons used in sacred rituals, further adding to its mystique.

8.   DHARI DEVI TEMPLE, SRINAGAR UTTRAKHAND:

A revered temple, it is dedicated to Dhari Devi (a form of Goddess Kali), who is considered to be the guardian deity of Uttarakhand and is worshipped as the protector of the Char Dhams. According to mythology, a severe flood once washed away a temple and the idol of Dhari Devi was trapped against a rock near the Dhari village the local residents claim to have heard wails and a divine voice directed them to install the idol there. Local lore also has it that the idol of the deity changes appearance throughout the day. A girl child in the morning, a young woman in the afternoon and an old woman I the evening.

Chamara Devi Temple, also Known as Charan Devi, is a revered Hindu shrine located in Chamrara village, Devprayag tehsil, within the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.
