Shri Kedarnath Yatra

Shri Kedarnath Ji

During the Lockdown, the team Aananda thought to visit Shiv Dham, Shri Kedarnath Yatra – the abode of Lord Shiva - the 11th Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva, to pray for the world to get free from Corona –on Saturday 11 July 2020. We assembled Haridwar at 6.30 am for our pilgrimage and started our journey to Guptkashi. The drive was really very scenic due to Monsoon – mountains were green –roads were clear – we have done several photos stops to take beautiful pictures.

Snow-Covered-Mountain

We had a wonderful picnic at Rudraprayag viewpoint; the food was really delicious – in the evening we reached Sitapur, where we had a night stay in the Giriraj guest house situated at the viewpoint. After dinner, we had a good night.

The next morning after breakfast, we left our guesthouse at 07.00 hrs and parked our car at Sonprayag, from here we have been through a medical test, later we took the local jeep to reach Gaurikund and almost 08.00 hrs we have started our trek to Kedarnath Ji.

Rudra Fall

When we had tea at Gaurikund suddenly very heavy rain started, but with the grace of Shiva, it totally stopped and the weather became very pleasant for the trek.

During the Kedarnath trek, we lost ourselves with the Himalayan beauty – the way was full of greenery – waterfalls, clouds –snow-covered mountains, and even we passed 03 glaciers on the way. After we enjoyed our lunch at Bhimbali – we witness the massive destruction which happened in 2013

New Bridge built after 2013 disaster
because Ramwada was not there and we saw a new bridge crossing Mandakini River. That is a new way to Kedarnath Ji via Small Lincholi and Big Lincholi which is quite tough –  anyhow everybody reached the temple at 16.30 hrs – this time temple was closed.

Entire Kedarnath Valley

We checked in and rested for a while because everybody was tired. We had a lovely tea with fruit bun –later we participate in the evening aarti ceremony. At the end of the day,

we were hungry and found only one shop of the food was open, there were queues, we waited till our turn came, almost 21.00 hrs we had dinner. Later we did parikrama (walked around the temple) with prayer when we reached in the Room –it was terrible cold – we hardly sleep this night.

Early Morning Satish and Anurag went to Bhairvnath which is further one km uphill from Kedarnath valley.

Bhasmasur Kund
They had some good shots –of pictures, later we all together did the prayer for the corona free world – and witness imaging Himalaya view including – Meru, Sumuru, Kedar peak, Ganesh peak, etc. due to sunny weather. Later, we started our down trek and almost after 03 km we had our breakfast at Chani camp, further no stop till the Jungle chatty which is 04 km before Gaurikund. We had a tea break here and straight down to Gaurikund, from here we hired Jeep for Sonprayag and reached at Car, from here we drive to Camp Nirvana for a comfortable stay.

We had a good dinner and everybody get to Early Bed Due to everyone tired. Next Morning we Wake up at 0800 AM and we enjoyed heavy breakfast at almost 08:45 AM and later we checked out and straight drive to Narayan Koti which is a very old and protected site of A.S.I, where we witness of A Group of Temples including Nine Planets, Bhasmasur Kund, Laxmi Narayan Temple, and visited Virbhadra Temple which was really Stunning Later we Decided to Drive back to Haridwar en-route at Srinagar we just stopped for a meal and In the last we had a tea break at Rishikesh.
