Badrinath Trip

Badrinath Trip

Badrinath

Badrinath – is a combination of two words Badri + Nath. Badri is a Sanskrit word which means berry ( a type of jungle fruit) and Nath refers to the owner. According to Hindu religion Lord Vishnu had meditated under Badri tree so the place got the name Badrinath. It is in the Chamoli district. As per Skanda Puran – “there are several sacred shrines in heaven, on earth, and in hell, but there is no shrine like Badrinath”. Thousands of pilgrims  visit  this holy place every year and it is one of the ‘Dhams’ (a center for pilgrimage) in the popular char Dham yatra.

Day - 01

November 15, 2019, It was a chilly morning a thin sheet of fog wandering around the environment. At 07 o clock, we all came to the office and meet with sir and his family. We put our luggage in a tempo traveler. We all were very excited about this pilgrimage tour. At 07:30 we started our trip from Haridwar to Badrinath with our Aananda family.
Kodiyala village

Our excitement level became high when we reach Rishikesh. The scene was very amazing, the mountains, the River and the dark forest were very fascinating. Then we play some music to make fun. That was a wonderful starting of the day. In those days a huge construction was going on the roads and the roads were very busy. At 09:18 Am we reached in Kodiyala village and we stuck in long traffic there,  almost three hours, in this time we had breakfast there “ Puri sabji“( Indian snacks ) then me and Mansi have been in Ecoterra camp which is on little bit height and it is a nice place. Then traffic removes and we start our trip again to Badrinath. We enjoyed the scenes very much.
Almost 02 Pm we reach in Srinagar and after crossing approx 02 Km away, we had lunch in a Maggie point, we ate Maggie there and it was so spicy and we buy some chips and cold drinks then we again proceed to our destination.
Approx 07:30 Pm we reach in Rudraprayag – “A little busy market  “ We all were very tired that time we all wanted to take rest but the only man ‘’Anjeet Sir “ was full of energy. Then he started to sing Bhajan, Chalisa and Mantra. This all charged our battery again then we sang bhajan with him and we enjoyed that moment very much.
Finally, at 10 Pm, we reach Hotel Badrish at Govind ghat. Then we had diner there and after the diner, we took a deep sleep. It was a sweet and chilled night the weather of Govind ghat was very Cold.

Day – 02
November 16, 2019, A New energetic morning with cold weather in Govind ghat. At 06 o clock, we woke up and took a bath. We were so excited to see that place. Me and Mansi went to the hotel terrace, A wonderful scene was admiring us-Huge mountain was covered with snow and the waterfalls were so fascinating, the trees were covered with a thin sheet of snow.

Govind Ghat

We heard natural music there it seems the birds, the waterfall and the wind was singing for us, they all appeared like a complete orchestra we lost our self in the lap of nature.
Then we had breakfast and proceed to Badrinath after one hour later we reach Badrinath-“Abode of Lord Vishnu” the temple was totally decorated with flowers and the environment of the temple is so divine. We had to buy Prashad ( offering ) there. The temple was totally filled with devotees. Then we have been in the temple, The idol of Lord Vishnu was so amazing it is built by black stone and decorated with a yellow dress and gold jewelry, the crown of lord Vishnu was so shiny. Every person was full of devotion then we enjoyed the “Bhog”( meal offering ceremony ) to Lord Vishnu and goddess Laxmi after the bhog the priest invited the goddess Laxmi to go with Lord Vishnu as the second day they have to go down for winter sheet. Then we took bhog  Prashad ‘ Kesari rice, Khichdi ‘( cussing of pulses and rice).
Mana Village

After that, we proceed to Mana village – “The last village of India” it is a valley which is totally covered with huge mountains and there is no vegetation.  It is small and pretty village and the villagers were so honest and kind.
Here is the beginning source of the Saraswati River. We all were glad to be there, later we proceed back to Haridwar.
We stay at Samrat resort in Rudraprayag that night, almost at 11 pm we reached in the resort, and then we fresh n up and took dinner at 12 Am. Food was very delicious after dinner we went to our bed.

Day – 03

November 17, 2019,  A fresh morning in Rudraprayag. We woke up at 06 o clock then we took bath and had breakfast later, we proceed to Dhari Devi temple-  thrown of goddess Kali” it is a beautiful temple which is located on the right bank of Alaknanda river between Srinagar and Rudraprayag. There is only the upper half idol of goddess Dhari Devi another lower half idol is in Kalimath.
Dhari Devi Temple

Almost at 10:48 AM. We reach there and we have been in the temple, worshiped there, and started returning journey again. Due to road widening the program was going on so it was very irritating to wait 10 to 15 minutes on several points and we all were too tired but the good news is that roads are widening for traveler’s convenience.
At 03 Pm we reach in Kodiyala village we were very hungry then we took lunch there and started again. We reach Haridwar at 06 pm then we say sweet Bye to each other and we went return back home.
That was a wonderful trip for all of us. Whenever I recall this trip, I lost in those amazing memories.
