Haridwar is one of the tourist destinations in Uttarakhand, situated on the bank of river Ganga and known as pilgrimage destination. The city holds Religious, cultural, Historical and spiritual significance. The name Haridwar means The Gateway of God, and plays an important role in gateway of Himalayan Pilgrimage sites. People from all over the world visit Haridwar to fulfil her spiritual needs, and take dip into the Holy river Ganga and to perform rituals.

Every year Kawar Yatra is performed by millions of peoples during sawan month. Tourist visit to see the natural beauty and holy vibe of Maa Ganga and beautiful Temples. On of the major attraction of Haridwar is Har ki Pauri, the Ghat where people visit to Bath in river Ganga to remove her sins. People perform Rituals at Har ki Pauri by which they feel spiritually connected with God. 


During evening the Ganga Arti is perform at Har ki Pauri is one of the most beautiful attraction for the tourist, during Arti the crowd visit Har ki Pauri and feel peaceful vibes of Har ki Pauri. Thousands of people visit Haridwar to see Ganga Arti especially during festival season. 

Kumbh is also held in Haridwar, kumbh Mela is a major Hindu pilgrimage in India. People from all over India visit Haridwar to bath in Holy river Ganga and perform rituals. Kawar yatra also a major festival for Hindus, and people from different parts of India visit bath in river Ganga and collect Ganga water. 

Haridwar is also famous for its other beautiful sites like Mansa Devi Temple, Chandi Devi Temple, Maya Devi Temple, Bharat Mata Temple, Daksh Prajapati temple etc. These temples are known for there beauty and spiritual vibes. Mansa Devi temple and Chandi Devi temple is situated on Hills, people visit there by trekking or by the ropeway. People from all over India visit these temples to see the natural beauty and spiritual vibes of these temples of Haridwar. These temples are surrounded by the beautiful nature and climate.

Haridwar is a spiritual destination and full of spiritual vibes of Maa Ganga and nearby temples, so it plays a significant role in Hindu Dharma to visit Haridwar. Tourism in Haridwar supports many small businesses, Hotels, Guest House, Restaurants, Transports, Travel agency etc. Tourism also helps promote local culture, traditions, handicrafts etc. However, large number of tourists also create challenges like overcrowding, waste generation, pollution and traffic in Haridwar. The local people suffer many problems during peak season. So sustainable Tourism is important for the future development of the Tourism in Haridwar. With the help of sustainable tourism Haridwar is continue grow as a spiritual, natural and cultural tourism.
